Christmas Flu
The last few days are a little foggy. Somewhere around Christmas Eve I came down w/ the flu. My older daughter visiting from California came down w/ it at the same time. My wife and younger daughter got it a couple of days earlier. We were an achy, feverish, coughing mess. None of us feel good, but we are definitely better. I can think clearly again and have enough energy to watch old movies. Looking forward to the new year. Maybe next year we'll get flu shots ...

Warm by the Fire
The perfect addition to a warm weather Christmas and it even makes crackling fire sounds along with playing traditional Christmas music. The studio certainly is cozy now.

Birthday/Anniversary Cake
I flippantly said I wanted my wife to make me a birthday cake from a recipe in Garden & Gun magazine. I didn't actually look at the recipe- just the picture. Sweet woman that she is, she got the recipe and went to the store and purchased the 3 lbs. of butter, 16 eggs, 3 cups of sugar and the not-too-ripe pears and spent a day making the cake. It's amazing. It's huge and rich and we need give some away or the consequences may not be pretty.

Dead Trees
Three dead trees in my backyard. I'm told they were probably victims of this years drought. Sorry they are gone, but fortunately there are more. It was amazing watching the tree guys take them down and then haul them out to the street by hand- no access for truck or tractors in back.
These are big. Some 30" in diameter |

Texas No More!
Well a couple of days after writing the previous post about my paintings in Texas ... they sent them back ... without a word. Oh well. They had been there for a long time w/o much interest, so I guess this is best. I guess Texas and me don't have much in common. I'm glad to see Mary again.

Down Texas Way
I had forgotten about these paintings at Koelsch Gallery in Houston. I really like them, but apparently I'm in the minority ...again.

Something to Think About
I came across this "fact" today. Makes you think.
What percentage of the universe would you say our earth takes up?
I think I would be understating it even if I used this number (.000000000000000000000000000001)%

Studio Revamp Complete
The studio is a sort of an organic living thing so it can't really be complete, it will always be changing, but for now it is fairly organized and easy to move in. I'm happy with it.
