Continuing the Painting Process
I went by the storage unit today and picked up 3 paintings that are about 10 yrs old. I've decided to continue them. I thought at first I was painting over them, but realized I am really just continuing the painting process. I spent the evening working on 2 of them and I'm pretty excited- maybe not with the progress, but I'm enjoying the process.
Happy to say these are gone now.

Cleaning the Studio Attic
I've been putting this off for a long time...for good reason. I've been shoving stuff up there without a plan. Really without looking. So have the mice. Mouse droppings, fur and a couple of mouse skulls so far. It's bad, but will be great when I get it cleared out and build some proper storage racks. So far I've cleared about 1/4 of it. I don't think I can pile any more on the street. I don't know if it will get picked up. I guess i'll do 1/4 a week for a month. It's going to be great.

Radcliffe Bailey
After seeing Radcliffe Bailey's wonderful piece "Tricky" at Fogelman I ordered this book. Very inspiring and much to think about. The one downer is that I missed his show at Clough-Hansen back in 2005. I'm kicking myself. Definitely going to make the effort to get out and see more from now on.

Elliot and Kimberly Perry Collection @ Fogelman
Recent Aquisitions: Selections from the Elliot and Kimberly Perry Collection @ The Fogelman Galleries of Contemporary Art at The University of Memphis
Hats off to Elliot and Kimberly Perry for bringing such inspiring art to Memphis and sharing it with the public. Elliot was great on the court and now he's great for the community.

Terri Jones @Tops
Friend Chuck and I spent this past Saturday making the rounds and seeing some art here in Memphis. The highlight was definitely Terri Jones show at Tops. Beautiful and moving. Haunting, but in a good way. Like images from a wonderful dream that you want to carry with you through the day. Her use of the space (and what a cool space!) is perfect. This is a show you will kick yourself for later if you don't go see it. And go see Tops Gallery. This was my first time and I look forward to seeing more shows there in the future.
